In 2019, Matthew began working as a project manager for website redesigns. Initially, he worked on contract for the Royal Botanic Garden and Domain Trust in Sydney. He started with the website for the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan. Mathew refreshed the website structure, copy and images over two months. The project also involved working with external development teams to introduce new site features and fix bugs.
As part of the process, he also engaged with a variety of internal stakeholders across multiple departments and worked closely with the visitor experience officers to provide the Garden with vastly improved usability not only for visitors to the website, but also for those updating the website on a daily basis.
His contract was then extended so he could perform the same job on the website for the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah and then further extended so he could update the New Year’s Eve event pages for the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney ahead of the 2019 New Year’s Eve events.
Currently, Matthew is working with the Elbon Group of Companies. Here he is redesigning websites for their Height Safety Engineers, Firefect and Australian Safety Systems brands. He is also heading up their newly-formed digital marketing department with a focus on improving their visibility in the industrial safety training and height safety sectors.
He began by providing some minor updates to the Height Safety Engineers website to give their training department a presence on the website.. This involved working with internal stakeholders to create a project brief, development of procedures to provide adherence to regulations around advertising a Registered Training Organisation, photography, copywriting and creation of a structure the new pages would follow.
In December 2019, the first of the fully redesigned websites was launched for the Firefect brand in Dubbo. Firefect is primarily a training company with a focus on providing safety training for high-risk work in the agriculture and mining sectors.
Over the course of 2020, Matthew will be working on developing and launching websites for Height Safety Engineers and Australian Safety Systems.
